This is an early prototype. Detection can miss sensitive information, mislabel a field, or remove text you meant to keep.
What this demo gets wrong
- The fictitious API key is still visible.
- The name redaction also consumes the DOB label and line break.
- The medical-record number is labeled as an SSN.
Those results are left in the recording. Always check the output before you share it.

Not yet. The public release repository is ready, but no downloadable app has been published. Installer and distribution checks are still in progress.
Which Macs are supported?
The first alpha is limited to Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 26.6.2, the environment tested so far. macOS 14 remains the build target, but support for earlier macOS versions has not been qualified.
Why does it need Accessibility?
Sentinel uses Accessibility to read the selection you invoke it on and paste the result you choose. Permission was already enabled for the recorded walkthrough.
Does my text leave my Mac?
Sentinel processes the selected text locally using its bundled model. This describes the app’s processing, not a network-isolation guarantee. Your editor, clipboard tools and other apps have their own behavior.
What exactly am I seeing in the demo?
A continuous recording of the normal app, using the bundled MLX model and the unchanged fictitious onboarding sample. System Events helpers perform the real clicks and shortcuts, with pauses for readability. It is not a human onboarding timing study.
